The awards ceremony for the Honors Society at my school was this evening. They said to “wear something nice”. Welp, I didn’t get the memo that EVERY SINGLE OTHER GIRL (I’m not exaggerating) was wearing a dress or skirt, ‘cause I showed up in pants. Awkward. And slightly nerve-wracking; I felt rather under-dressed. But who cares, I only had to walk across the stage once and that’s it. Pfft. In other news, I get to sleep in tomorrow 8D For only an hour, but hey. Extra sleep is extra sleep. Soon will come the days when I stay up until three in the morning, because at those hours is when my creativity spikes and I’ll be able to draw again. Prom, Memorial Day parades, senior class trip to the Adirondacks, my birthday, probably no final exams, then graduation. And a few smaller things in between. I’m in the home stretch. I can do this.

I often find myself having finished my classwork in the computer lab early and therefore having some free time on my hands. Like now. Problem is, the school network blocks every site I go on except this one, and I already went through everything new on my dash. It’s times like these when I wish I had an interesting story to type out and post on here to entertain both myself and hopefully my followers for the time being. So…let’s see what’s going on/ The Honors Society event thing is tomorrow night, prom is this Saturday, I have early morning marching band this week before classes start, next week I’m going on a senior field trip to upstate New York, after that is my eighteenth birthday (which I’m not doing anything for, unfortunately), and then senior final exams start, which I might not have to take any if I can pull off a good enough grade in all of my classes (which is highly likely), and then everyone else has their exams and I won’t have to go to school those days, I need to finish four projects for Studio by June 14, and I graduate June 15, there’s another day of school for everyone else the following Monday, but psh, not going, I’ll be outta there! Until then, my “Senioritis”* will be as bad as ever. *The name given to a feeling of ennui among seniors eager to be done with high school. Symptoms usually arise around mid to late May, although they are also known to occur in sophomores.

Oh, so apparently spiders are hitchhikers.
Well. The ones in my house anyway. First off, I quite like spiders. Therefore if I see one in my room, I leave it alone, like what happened the other night. Just sitting there, minding my own business, when I notice something scuttling across my floor. I think nothing of it and go back to what I’m doing. Today, when I opened my bag during Chemistry class (although I was in a computer lab/classroom working on an assignment), the same spider appeared out of nowhere, darted behind where I was sitting, and then disappeared. This isn’t the first time this has happened, either. It was the same kind of spider too, as far as I could tell…they move too fast to get a good look at them. I did a bit of research, and I’m assuming it is the Tegenaria domestica. It seemed to be in a hurry to get someplace dark, so photosensitive is plausible. I haven’t seen any webs, though, but they would always run away from me. Not aggressive either. ANYWAY. I dunno. I find it kinda cute, hitchhiking spider hiding in my bookbag like a pet rodent. <3

Whatever it’s called when you really, REALLY want to draw but just can’t seem to find the motivation or any ideas to do so… Yeah. I’ve had that for a while. AUGH.

My mother:
How's it coming in here?
Me:
'S in the oven.
My mother:
Ooh, you got the kitchen timer going. Did you figure that out all by yourself?
Me:
Shut up.

I keep saying I haven’t had any problems with Tumblr today. I probably shouldn’t jinx it, eh? |
